Pain conditions we treat at our Darwen clinic
Pain is the headline reason people come to see us. Sometimes it started with an obvious event — a fall, a lift, a bad sleep position that never quite resolved. More often it has crept up gradually over months or years until it is interfering with sleep or work or what you want to do at the weekend. We treat:
- Back pain — the most common complaint we see
- Neck pain, often with tension headaches
- Sciatica and trapped nerves
- Headaches and migraines with a cervical origin
- Pins and needles and numbness in the arms, hands, legs or feet
- Shoulder pain, rib pain and hip, knee and foot pain
The assessment is thorough. We would rather take the time to understand what is going on than rush into treatment and have to backtrack a week later. You leave the first appointment knowing what Dr Crump has found and what the plan is.
Injury recovery at our Darwen clinic
Darwen and the surrounding area has its share of active people — runners, cyclists, walkers on the moors, rugby and football players across the local clubs, and manual workers whose jobs are physically demanding. We see sports injuries from every level of activity, whiplash and RTA injuries from road traffic accidents on the A666 and M65, and workplace and fall injuries from both traditional industries and newer logistics work.

Manual therapy and spinal care
This is the core of what a chiropractor does. Spinal adjustments restore normal movement to joints that have stopped moving the way they should. Slipped disc treatment is safe and effective for most disc problems and rarely requires surgery. Stiff joint treatment and postural correction round out the picture — because pain is usually about how the spine and joints are moving, not just where it hurts.
On-site x-ray
Our Darwen clinic has x-ray facilities on site, the same as Wigan. When an image would meaningfully change the treatment plan, you get it the same day. More on the x-ray services page.
Meet Dr Trevor Crump
Dr Crump has been a practising chiropractor for over 25 years and runs both Red Leaf clinics himself. He is registered with the General Chiropractic Council, BUPA, the Scottish Chiropractic Association and the American NBCE. Patients see him at every visit — there is no rotating team, no junior passing you between different practitioners. It is a deliberately small, personal setup and we think that is how chiropractic care should be delivered.
What to expect at your first Darwen consultation
The first appointment runs 45 minutes to an hour. We cover your history, examine the relevant areas, and where appropriate begin treatment that same day. You are not asked to sign up to a block of sessions upfront. Read more on the consultations page.
